Come join us!! Serve as the first point of contact by greeting and welcoming patients and others, (in person, at the check-in desk, or via the telephone). Responsible for answering incoming calls in a professional manner, and/or checking in / out-patients per established protocols. Complete complex scheduling of multiple appointments for one patientxe2x80x99s appointment and/or services. Facilitate internal and external referrals, ensuring patient attended appointment and referring provider has received consult notes as appropriate. Responsible for maintaining excellent communications with customers and managing the resolution of patient concerns. Concerns may vary in reason and may be clinical or financial in nature. Serve as a patient advocate and collaborate between departments, external agencies and the patient while building strong relationships to promote customer loyalty while adhering to organizational mission, vision, and values. Required Qualifications: High school education or equivalent required. Minimum of two-year post-secondary education with coursework in business, medical assistant program or nursing assistant program OR equivalent combination of education/experience in customer service or medical scheduling related capacity (one year of education equals one year of experience) required. Demonstrated ability to provide a high level of customer service to physicians, patients and other internal/external customers required. Developed knowledge of hospital and/or professional revenue cycle processes required. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, databases, and payer applications required. Ability to work professionally with physicians, clinic staff and patients in a timely, confidential manner required. Demonstrated analytical, prioritization, organizational, team, project management and self-directing skills required. Demonstrated flexibility and dedication to team environment required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work with diverse customer base required. Effective communication skills required. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in healthcare environment with working knowledge of medical office operations, scheduling or registration systems preferred. College coursework in business preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Experience with electronic health records, Epic preferred.
