Description:SUMMARY OF DUTIES: To greet, register and/or check-out all patients at the registration area, verifying necessary information and collecting all up-front payments.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES include the following:Greets patients at each visit in a prompt, courteous and friendly mannerNew patients: Obtains, enters and reviews for completenessHands out to each new patient: Patient Demographic Form, Notice of Privacy Practices Patient Rights and Responsibilities, Authorization for Release of Patient Information Form and HIV and AIDS information.Patient informationName, address, phone numbers, date of birth, sex and social security numberResponsible party including address and phone numbers and relation to patientPCPMarital StatusEmployer NameEmployee StatusStudent StatusEmergency Contact including address and phone numbersInsurance and pharmacyRelease of InformationSignature DateInformation for UDS reports including household and income size.Photo of patients.Notifies outreach worker of patients in need of assistance.Verifies and updates at each visit utilizing the Kiosk SystemReads and follows all billing alertsName, address, phone numbers and date of birthResponsible Partyxe2x80x99s informationMarital StatusEmergency Contact including phone numberInsurance and pharmacyVerify coverage through IECollects, post and give receipt for patient paymentsMarks patients arrivedEnd of each visitMakes return appointment and provides slipChecks patient out in the systemOnce a year verifies and updatesEmployment informationHousehold sizeAnnual IncomeUpdates PhotoEnd of the day dutiesTallies copay received for the daily encounter report.Balances cash drawer: maintains $100.00 with no overages or shortages.Runs end of the day report on check scannerRuns end of the day report on credit card machineLocks lobby doors and turns off lightsLeaves area neat and cleanOther dutiesSchedules follow up appointment according to clinic protocolsAnswers incoming calls promptlyTake messages obtaining patientxe2x80x99s name, DOB, and phone number. Takes concise accurate messagesDistributes incoming faxes and faxes outgoing faxesScans and files information into EMRMonitors waiting room for movement of patientsReports problems or irregularities to clinic managerKeeps waiting room neat and orderlyProvides coverage in the absence of other employees as neededOther duties or assignments as requested by supervisor or managementRequirements:EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: High School graduate or equivalent. CMA preferred. One year of related work experience required. Excellent guest service, communication and multi-tasking skills required. At times, you will need to be able to perform under pressure and emergency conditions. Will require both mental and physical flexibility to meet the dynamic demands of the healthcare environment. Requires decision-making capacity within the parameters of the organizationxe2x80x99s policies/procedures and current standards of care.SOFTWARE SKILLS: Experience with eClinical Works is a plus. Must be proficient with MS office suite.WORKING CONDITIONS:Normal office environment with occasional evening or weekend workPeriodic local, state and national travel; travel between Health Center and Administrative SitesPhysical Demands: Lifting, bending, reaching, pushing, carrying, sitting, vision corrected in normal range, hearing corrected in normal rangeHazardous Conditions: Exposure to infectious diseases; potential exposure to physical violenceMachines, equipment, tools and supplies used: computer, postage machine, fax, copier, calculator, multi-line phone systemADA REQUIREMENTS: Constant interpersonal skills, teamwork, customer service, reading, speaking, writing and understanding English, and problem analysis.
