Job Posting Registration Clerk – Outpatient Clinic The position is located in the Outpatient Clinic within the hospital. The position will work Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Duties and Responsibilities: Meets and greats patients upon arrival to CMH. Obtains patient demographic and health insurance information; collects co-pay if/when appropriate. Completes registration process by using the Electronic Health Information (EHR)system system. Schedules outpatient clinic appointments within the EHR system. Communicates appropriately and clearly to nurse, co-workers and physicians. Consults other departments, as appropriate, to provide for an interdisciplinary approach to the patient’s needs. Demonstrates an ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful situations. Treats patients and their families with respect and dignity. Answers telephone in a polite manner and communicates information to the appropriate staff or family. Maintains regulatory requirements, nursing and outpatient clinic policies and procedures and standards, including infection prevention and control, safety regulations and guidelines. Perform other duties as assigned. Professional Requirements Has experience and working knowledge of medical terminology and good public relations skills. Ability to work cooperatively with others. Skills: Basic computer knowledge. Must be able to read, write, memorize, word process, and interact friendly and efficiently with the public. Ability to treat and work with all patients in a warm, friendly and caring atmosphere.
