Job Summary:The Front Desk / Referral Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of a Physical Therapy Private Practice. This position involves a combination of administrative tasks, patient interaction, and handling/processing referrals. The individual in this role will be well versed in front desk activities, handling patient inquiries, scheduling appointments, and coordinating with healthcare providers for referrals.Key Responsibilities:Patient Reception:Greet and welcome patients in a friendly and professional manner.Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and provide information about the practice’s services.Appointment Scheduling:Schedule and coordinate patient appointments efficiently, considering therapist availability and patient preferences.Manage appointment cancellations and rescheduling requests.Referral Coordination:Liaise with healthcare providers to obtain and process patient referrals.Ensure all necessary information is collected for accurate billing and insurance purposes.Insurance Verification:Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits to facilitate accurate billing.Communicate insurance-related information to patients, including co-pays and deductibles.Administrative Support:Perform general administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining patient records.Handle and distribute incoming mail and faxes.Patient Education:Provide patients with information about the practice’s services, policies, and procedures.Educate patients on any necessary pre-appointment preparations.Communication:Effectively communicate with patients, therapists, and other staff members to ensure a cohesive and positive patient experience.Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in healthcare administration is a plus.Proven experience in a similar administrative role, preferably in a healthcare or physical therapy setting.Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance procedures, and referral processes.Proficient in using office software (e.g., Microsoft Office) and scheduling systems.Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Personal Attributes:Friendly and approachable demeanor.Detail-oriented and organized.Ability to maintain confidentiality.Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.Team player with a positive attitude.Job Type: Full-timeSalary: $19.00- $24.00 per hourBenefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceFlexible spending accountFree parkingHealth insuranceLife insuranceOn-the-job trainingOpportunities for advancementPaid time offReferral programVision insuranceHealthcare setting:ClinicOutpatientPrivate practiceMedical specialties:OrthopedicsPhysical & Rehabilitation MedicineSports MedicineSchedule:Monday to FridayNo weekendsxc2xa0Work Location: In person
