Job DescriptionOphthalmology receptionists serve patients by helping the surgeon with office responsibilities such as answering phones, greeting patients and performing light clerical duties. Applicants must be joyful, passionate about making a difference in the lives of others, outgoing, a team player, and a consummate professional. Prior medical office experience is required and a working ophthalmic vocabulary is preferred. Technical knowledge of ophthalmic or optometric testing and procedures will benefit a job applicant; however, experience with medical billing and procedures is most important. We only hire applicants with a polished image, good customer service skills, and those who agree to our service-oriented mission.DutiesOphthalmology/Optometry receptionists interface with patients and doctors. They answer phone calls, schedule appointments, maintain charts, and greet patients. The receptionist is also responsible for regular office duties, light cleaning, scanning documents and confirming appointments.
