The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our patients while efficiently managing administrative tasks at the front desk. As a Medical Receptionist in our alternative medicine setting, you will play a crucial role in creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for our patients and assisting with various administrative duties to ensure the smooth operation of the practice.Responsibilities:Greet patients in a friendly and professional manner as they arrive at the practice.Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar efficiently, ensuring optimal utilization of practitioner’s time.Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries promptly, providing information about our services, scheduling appointments, and addressing patient concerns.Maintain patient records accurately and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information.Collect patient information and insurance details, verifying eligibility and coverage as needed.Process payments, including co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding balances, and reconcile daily financial transactions.Coordinate with practitioners and clinical staff to ensure seamless patient flow and efficient delivery of care.Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of the reception area and waiting room.Manage inventory of office and medical supplies, placing orders as necessary.Collaborate with the billing department to resolve billing inquiries and insurance claims in a timely manner.Provide administrative support to practitioners and clinical staff as needed, including faxing, scanning, and photocopying documents.Stay informed about alternative medicine practices, services offered, and any updates or changes in procedures.Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in medical administration is a plus.Proven experience as a medical receptionist or in a similar administrative role, preferably in an alternative medicine setting.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, staff, and external contacts.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and other office software.Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.Positive attitude, empathy, and compassion towards patients seeking alternative medical treatments.Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work schedules.Commitment to providing exceptional customer service and enhancing the overall patient experience.This job description outlines the primary duties and qualifications expected of a Medical Receptionist in an alternative medicine setting.
