The receptionist is responsible for clerical and organizational tasks like file organizing, scheduling appointments, assisting staff as needed. xc2xa0Supervisory or Managerial Responsibility:xc2xa0None xc2xa0 xc2xa0xc2xa0Essential Responsibilities: Welcomes patients and visitors to the office and directs questions to appropriate staff members.xc2xa0 Schedules providers appointments to optimize patient satisfaction, provider time and most effective use of exam and treatment rooms. xc2xa0 Collects co-pays and other payments from patients. Reconciles cash/check payment receipts generated from the EHR with cash on hand at the end of each shift. xc2xa0 Collects forms of ID from patients and any other information necessary for their appointment. Retrieves patient files, sequences paperwork, adds new patient record forms, and places files in sequence for physician examination or treatment. xc2xa0 Maintains reception area in a neat and orderly condition.xc2xa0 Assists patients with insurance papers and billing questions.xc2xa0 Assists ill or distraught patients as necessary. Telephones taxis or family members when necessary for transportation. Participates in the medical office emergency routine when required. Calls EMS or assists other staff members as needed.xc2xa0Other Duties: Other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required.xc2xa0 1 year of medical front desk receptionist experience or administrative experience preferred.1 year of customer service experience required.Work Environment and Conditions:xc2xa0 Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. xc2xa0xc2xa0Hourly compensation range:xc2xa0$18.00 – $20.00Family Care Center offers competitive compensation and benefits packages with the ability to also maintain work-life balance.
