The successful candidate:Hours: Mon – Fri 7:00am – 3:30pmLocation: Downtown Chicago, IL*This is not a remote positionThe Patient Connection Rep will triage phone calls to ensure warm transfer or resolution per department guidelines; provide clerical support between patients, caregivers, physicians, care managers and clinical service departments with routine clerical and administrative tasks; document coordination; and ordering supplies. The position promotes teamwork, nurtures relationships with others and is viewed positively by co-workers. Communicates clearly, concisely, and courteously in a timely manner. Demonstrates professional behavior and appearance, respect for patient privacy and confidentiality in all contacts with patients, caregivers, vendors and stakeholders.Minimum Qualifications:High School diploma or equivalent;Two (2) years customer service experience;Experience with electronic medical records;Knowledge of medical information and terminologyExcellent written and oral communication skills;Multi-tasking, flexibility, telephone skills, time management, organization, attention to detail;Proficient typing/keyboard skills required;Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook);Some knowledge of medical terminology preferred;Requires a great deal of independent contact with patients and their caregivers;Individuals must have the ability to assess situations where other levels of clinical intervention may be necessaryCity of Hope is an equal opportunity employer.
