This position is responsible for handling and routing all incoming calls, greeting patients and their families, registering patients, insurance verification as needed, scheduling new patient appointments and follow ups, cash collections, and the proper handling of patient charts, among other things, under the general supervision of the Practice Manager. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs day-to-day general office duties including but not limited to word processing, copying, filing, faxing, answering phones, and data entry. Scheduling appointments, carefully screening patients for new addresses and update registration, and informing patient of adequate information that must be presented at the time of visit. Verifies patient benefit eligibility and coverage and documents in the EHR system. Obtains authorization/referral for office visits. Maintain ongoing tracking and appropriate documentation on referrals to promote team awareness. Performs telephonic support for online authorization of office visits and procedures. Ensure complete and accurate data, including patient demographics, current insurance information, and update patient benefit information. Knowledge of Insurance carriers and contracted providers. Performs other duties as required.
