We are a unique Prosthodontic and Oral Oncology practice in Shavano Park (San Antonio) looking for an energetic dental assistant to add to our team. We are enlarging our space with a new office and all new, state- of-the art equipment. This is your chance to grow with us, learn new skills, and provide excellent customer service to our patients. Assistants should be well-organized, with great attention to detail. You should be able to follow instructions and respect dental office regulations. We want you to be skilled in providing direct or indirect patient care and able to make office procedures as smooth as possible. We are willing to train all levels of complex prosthodontic procedures. We primarily provide prosthodontic and oral oncology care. This includes composites, full mouth crown & bridge rehabilitations, All-On-4 Style surgery, complex/implant assisted dentures, Sleep Apnea appliances, pre/post chemotherapy and oral radiation care for cancer patients, and IV Sedation. Ideal Candidate: xefx82xb7 Highly experienced with prosthodontics, implants, oral surgery, comprehensive exams and general dentistry xefx82xb7 Ability to fabricate temporary crowns and bridges, assist with treatment plans, give post-op instructions, take IntraOral Photos, Panos, FMXs & BWXs, and keep track of Lab cases xefx82xb7 Undertake lab tasks as instructed: make impressions, pour models, repair & deliver acrylic based prosthesis, fabricate whitening trays, adjust Night Guards, and open to learning in-office millings xefx82xb7 Ability to project a positive, warm and professional image in person and on the phone xefx82xb7 Must be articulate and service-oriented; patient with complex, multiple step procedures xefx82xb7 Ability to multi-task, take initiative and anticipate needs of others xefx82xb7 Reliable and prompt; available for at least 40 hours per week (4 days/10-11 hours). Occasional Fridays, as needed (maybe once a month at Overtime pay) xefx82xb7 Works well in a team, with humor, enthusiasm, and joyful consideration of others xefx82xb7 Willing to be mentored in new procedures Responsibilities xefx82xb7 Welcome patients in the dental office and scan paperwork xefx82xb7 Prepare patients for treatments or checkups, ensuring their comfort xefx82xb7 Select and set up instruments, equipment and materials needed for new patient exams and dental treatments xefx82xb7 Present treatment plans and review expected treatment with patients xefx82xb7 Experience with dental photography a plus, but can be trained xefx82xb7 Sterilize instruments according to regulations xefx82xb7 Assist the dentist through 4-handed dentistry, which will include surgical procedures xefx82xb7 Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions xefx82xb7 Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked xefx82xb7 Maintain accurate patient records and follow-up on outstanding treatment planned care Experience: xefx82xb7 Steady work history is required – At least 3 references are required and will be checked xefx82xb7 2 Years previous experience as a Registered Dental Assistant is required xefx82xb7 Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and Open Dental is required xefx82xb7 Radiology certification is required xefx82xb7 Attention to detail and strong organizational skills xefx82xb7 Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment Job Type: Full-time Monday-Thursday 36-42 hour a week.
