Summary: The Receptionist/Scheduler: Floater will assist patients, students, faculty and staff and will maintain an efficient smooth running operation for various departments within the Kornberg School of Dentistry. The Receptionist/Scheduler: Floater will be assigned daily to work in any department that needs additional coverage for the day. Primary responsibilities will include greeting and screening visitors, students and employees entering the Kornberg School of Dentistry including completing visitor screening questions; answering telephones, screening calls, and taking and relaying messages; using the computerized Clinical Management System (Axium) to assist with scheduling appointments for patients; assisting patients with transportation arrangements as needed; and assisting with creating and maintaining patient charts. In addition, the Receptionist/Scheduler: Floater will responsible for the entire range of billing functions related to the practice. This will include manual and electronic billing, insurance verification and preauthorization, payment reconciliation, verifying patientxe2x80x99s financial information, and follow-up on denied claims or claim requiring additional information. The Receptionist/Scheduler: Floater will also be participating in collection and/or distribution of information related to quality of service; printing schedules and completing appointment confirmation calls; preparing follow-up letters using patient scheduling system for no-show patients, and preparing letters for mailing; assisting in the records room pulling, filing, and recording patient charts; and providing assistance with special assignments, project and events as requested. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Required Skills & Abilities: Must be able to work with a diverse population of students, faculty, staff, and patients and their families. Must have good written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organization and interpersonal skills Excellent customer services skills with the demonstrated ability to calmly handle various patient complaints, problems, and questions Ability to multitask, prioritize work, and make independent decisions for non-complex issues. Preferred: Bilingual Spanish/English. This position requires a background check. Please note this position will work on-site.
