Acknowledges and greets patients as they approach the desk. Reviews and updates all demographic/insurance information. Collects co/pays and balances as needed and enters payment into patient account. Balances cash drawer at the end of shift. Answers telephone calls in a prompt and professional manner. Routes calls appropriately taking accurate and complete phone messages when necessary. Schedules, cancels, or reschedules appointments when necessary. Responsible to recognize, label, and route the appropriate document to the correct provider and location within the Electronic Medical Record. Perform a variety of clerical duties including preparing mailings, filing, faxing, scanning and photocopying.Education/Experience:High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; one to two years of college preferred. Minimum of two years previous experience working in Health Care/ Medical Records required; or three or more years of related experience and/or training in a medical office which uses an Electronic Medical Record; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology and procedures. Ability to effectively communicate to establish and maintain effective working relationships with doctors, patients, coworkers, management, and any other external customers. Knowledge of medical insurances and various policies/requirements necessary to obtain verifications. Minimum of 2 years related experience in healthcare. One of our main goals at CNY Family Care, LLP is to provide all of our patients with continuous and comprehensive health care. As part of this care model, we ask all of our patients to select one personal physician. This PCP/Primary Care Physician will maintain an ongoing relationship with the patient and will then always be in charge of their care. They will oversee the care team that consists of nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants and Diabetic Educators who might interact with the patients when they visit the office. Our care team will work towards ensuring that the patients receive the appropriate age-related preventative testing and treatment as well as the latest evidence-based treatment (proven and documented) for their individual medical condition(s).We continue to grow and expand our services in order to meet the demands of our patient population.
