About Wheaton Eye ClinicFounded over 80 years ago, the Wheaton Eye Clinic is a nationally recognized multi-subspecialty ophthalmology practice that spans the western suburbs of Chicago and is the largest independent ophthalmology clinic in the Midwest. The Optical Inventory Processor is responsible for inventory purchasing, data entry, verifying orders, maintaining an adequate inventory of department stock, processing returns, obtaining, and tracking credits. Responsibilities include front desk reception duties as required. Hours are Monday – Friday either 7am – 4pm or 8am – 5pm.Duties and responsibilitiesPlace orders with vendors and maintain adequate supply of all items needed for inventory and customer ordersReceive orders and verify invoicesMonitor purchase orders and stocking levels for satellite officesMaintain department stock in an organized mannerEnsure inventory levels stay at predetermined levelsMonitor merchandise back orders Monitor and update frame costs when identified from invoicesIdentify areas of obsolete inventoryNotify appropriate staff of change in status of eyewear ordersReturn product and materials to vendors for credit as necessaryMaintain required files, invoices, statements, credits and records Provide back-up support for optical receptionist as requiredArrange and attend vendor meetings Conduct frame board management two times per week for Wheaton locationTag productSupply frame cases to satellite offices Answer Phones and assist patient with questions and scheduling appointmentsReceive completed jobs, notify patient of availability, mark them received and notified, place them in holding drawer Maintain appropriate patient flow for the Optical Department Complete sales of accessory items for patients.
