Background:Established in 1963, The Cardiovascular Care Group provides complete care for patients with vascular disease. With New Jersey offices in Essex, Passaic, Union, Morris, Monmouth, and Mercer counties, the Group is able to deliver care in both office-based and hospital settings. Job Summary:We are looking for a Medical Assistant to support the Cardiovascular Care Group and provide clinical support to the office physicians. The position is in our Shrewsbury office, but may travel to our other locations as needed. Patients, visitors and medical staff will turn to you for information and help with administrative issues. Your goal is to ensure smooth workflow, so that our patients receive the best possible care. Responsibilities include: Provide compassionate patient support and care, attention and assistance during office visits Front Desk responsibilities: answering calls, setting appointments and greeting patients. Prepping exam rooms for clinical procedures and assisting practitioners with patient care Put patients in rooms; assist patients to gown and get on examination table if needed Interview patients, measure vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight and height) and record information on patientsxe2x80x99 charts. Performing data entry tasks to document patient records within facility databases and maintaining patient files Managing office telephone systems, including answering calls and returning messages (May) pull up patient record for physician to review in exam room. (May) remove sutures and adjust dressings. Sanitize medical supplies and dispose of materials that have been used. Maintain inventory of supplies in each exam room and stock appropriately; notify nurse manager of necessary supply orders Schedule procedures for patients (e.g., MRI, MRA, cat scans); pre-certify the testing as needed Set up rooms for Vein Center cosmetic procedures, vein ablations and phlebectomy. Scrub into these procedures, once trained. Provide related administrative support. Skills and Experience: Minimum two years experience as a medical assistant, preferably in a busy medical practice; experience assisting in office surgeries a plus Excellent interpersonal communication skills; fluency in Spanish a plus Strong patient orientation Excellent attention to detail Familiarity with standard concepts, practices and procedures associated with the treatment of vascular disease a plus Adhere to patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance requirements Education: High School Diploma or equivalent Must hold certificate from an approved Medical Assistant Program Must be a Registered or Certified Medical Assistant Job Type: Part-time Expected hours: 24 xe2x80x93 25 per week Benefits: 401(k) Dental insurance Employee assistance program Flexible spending account Health insurance Paid sick time Vision insurance Schedule: 8 hour shift Ability to Commute: Shrewsbury, NJ 07702 (Required) Work Location: In person
